Where the Spirits of Scotland Never Sleep

In the mist-covered hills of Scotland, silence can be a warning. Highland Mourning is a gothic candle that captures the haunting stillness of the highlands—where legends linger, and the dead still walk familiar paths.

The scent opens with the wild, green bite of Scottish thistle, softened by the quiet sweetness of vanilla and cooled by crisp eucalyptus. Together, they evoke the chill of wind across heathered moors and the breath of something unseen at your shoulder.

Inspired by true folklore from Barra, this candle includes an original horror story: a phantom funeral procession moving through empty roads, forcing the living to step aside for the passage of the dead. Some who cross its path are never seen again.

Light Highland Mourning and let the scent carry you to a place where the veil thins, and grief lingers longer than memory.

wooden wick candle care tips

  • Always trim your wood wick before each light! Simply pinch off the charred wood from the previous light, or use a wick trimmer for a cleaner cut. Wicks should be about 1/4" each time the candle is lit. The most common reason for wood wick candles not staying lit is a wick that is too long.
  • In order to ensure your candle will not tunnel over time, give your candle ample time to melt to the edge the first time you light it. This can take up to 4 hours
  • remember not to light the candle near anything flammeble: fabrics, curtains, house plants, etc. Keep candle away from pets and children. Do not light for longer than 4 hours at a time. Be careful handling candle when it is lit as the jar can be very hot.
