Let me tell you a story...
Kids around town said the old cemetery had more graves now than it did after it closed. Legend has it the ghost of the caretaker would bury anyone who dared to sneak into his old, abandoned house on the hill. So, there we sat after a chilly autumn night filled with mischief and mayhem staring at the attic window waiting for the new kid to reappear, and complete his final initiation.
A cold breeze swept leaves past my feet. “He’s been in there too long…” I thought to myself. But if he came out before making it to the attic, everyone would know he’s a chicken. That’s when we spotted a shadowy silhouette in the window.
“Well, what do you know? The little wimp made it…” but my voice trailed off as the figure lifted a lantern, revealing a pale old man holding a shovel and covered in fresh dirt grinning at us from ear to ear.
